Apple wants to build the new Apple Electric Car Project Team before end of year

Tech giant Apple is reportedly planning to build a team for its electric car project – Project Titan – before the end of the year. On the microblogging site, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo wrote, “Apple is building a new team to accelerate the project that has been dormant during the Covid pandemic”. Apple has gone through many stages of its rumored car project, neither confirming nor denying its existence, in reality, ArenaEV reports.

Industry analysts have been predicting an Apple car for years, which began as a simple city car and is now seen more as a fully-autonomous car that will require no input from the driver, the report said. Project Titan began life in 2014 when Apple formed a so-called shell company. The SixtyEight Research to work on the car project.

The project has been marred by many changes, teams moving away, project direction completely changing, and sudden changes in management. Bob Mansfield, who was Apple’s VP of Technologies, is currently leading the project.

With all the restrictions and the aftershocks of the wider industry slowly fading, it looks like Apple wants to get back on track with Project Titan, the report said. Two years have been wasted and it will take more time to catch up on lost work, it added.

Is it possible that we will see Apple cars in 2025? Otherwise, why would Apple look to Kia, Hyundai and Nissan for a manufacturing partnership? 2025 might be a bit ambitious, one thing is for sure – Apple Car is on its way and we will see it in this decade. Even though Apple has yet to build an actual car, the company is already seen as an attractive car brand and many potential buyers want to buy the car as soon as it is released.
