Georgia Holt’s Legacy
Holt, born Jackie Jean Crouch, began her music career at the age of six. He first sang at a radio station in Oklahoma City before getting a chance to collaborate with Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys at the age of 10.
A few years before starting her acting journey, she had already won several talent and beauty pageants.
In 1950, she had an unpleasant role in the film “A Life of Her Own”. He was also a part of “Watch the Birdie”.
Her appearances in two flicks led her to tap into several films and TV shows including “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” “Grounds for Marriage,” “I Love Lucy,” “Superstars and Their Mothers,” “Father’s Little,” Dividends, ” and “Artists and Models.”
In the 1980s, Holt recorded her country album “Honky Tonk Woman,” which was later released in 2013 and featured a duet with Cher titled “I’m Just Your Yesterday.” She was also the subject of the 2013 Lifetime documentary “Dear Mom, Love Cher.”
Holt was born on June 9, 1926, in Kensett, Ark. She was married and divorced six times in her life and was in a relationship with Craig Spencer from 1976 until his death. Holt and Cher’s father, John Paul Sarkeesian, were married from 1946 to 1947, later remarried in 1965 and divorced again in 1966.
Holt is survived by his two daughters, Cher and Jorgan LaPierre; his partner Spencer; and his grandchildren, Chaz Bono and P. Exeter Blue Eye.
